Braving the Dark Continent - Preliminary Edition Hits the Internet

Today I finished up a very preliminary edition of the upcoming Colonial VOID rules.

The campaign booklet is designed for the players to field small companies of adventurers and soldiers from one of the listed nations or tribes and offers the possibility for one-off battles with a points system for purchasing the various units, thus allowing for pick up and play games.

But where the game really shines is when playing a campaign game where the individual adventurers within your company have their own personal ambitions which will set the tone and goal of the campaign. These ambitions include; big-game hunting; ivory trade; wealth; becoming a legend and even marriage!

Each adventurer in a band will also have character in either forms of games which will enhance the gaming experience as you never know if you end up with a sadistic and pompous Lord, and have a unit led by a drunken and bewildered captain while facing a noble and brave Zulu warchief.

It is designed to be fast paced gaming experience, with a minimum of fuzz and should provide enough historical accuracy to feel right, without expending the fun of venturing into the Dark Continent.

The preliminary edition is available for download right here (just right click and choose "save as").
